“One of Canada’s top Public Relations Companies Media Profile, rang in the Holidays in a big way at Party Hotspot The Burroughes earlier this evening. The much-hyped Party was listed among The Toronto Star‘s Top Five Crashworthy Holiday Parties in the City and there were no empty glasses to be found.
Several Media Personalities including Canadian TV Legend Lloyd Robertson were spotted and lucky attendees Jessica and Natalie managed to convince him to get inside the on-site Photo Booth and snap some awesome Photos together! “

Gail runs a successful marketing and event management company called Magnet Creative and in her part time, she volunteers for TFI and runs the Passion For Fashion program at Youth Employment Services.
I first met Gail a while ago when she was a teen model and just embarking on her fashion career. But it wasn’t until she starting working at TFI as my assistant that I truly got to know and love her. After leaving TFI and gaining some more industry experience, Gail joined TFI’s Resident program and launched Canada’s first styling lounge called The Style Box. Earlier this year, Gail was nominated for The Scottish Fashion Awards (she’s a native Glaswegian) which was held in conjunction with Vogue.com.
in Gail’s profile on Broken Heel Diaries she says that I’ve been her mentor and role model for the last 10 years. I’m extremely honoured and touched to think that I’ve made a difference. God willing, I hope to be a source of inspiration for Gail and others for many years to come. Thank you for the mention Gail!
NKPR’s popular pop-up gifting suite was transported to another era, through a Great Gatsby-inspired makeover by designer Karen Sealy of Sealy Design Inc. The lounge features some of the latest product arrival from Canadian & international brands.
“Vancouver based luxury fashion brand Obakki may be known in fashion circles as an effortless chic fashion brand, but in other circles the name—Obakki—is synonymous with bringing clean drinking water and education to regions of South Sudan through the Obakki Foundation.”
Gail McInnes: a Glasgow-born Toronto-based entrepreneur in the fashion industry. Now if that’s not a mouthful, Gail’s 14 years of experience and numerous accolades are sure to be! Prior to launching Magnet Creative Management in 2010, a full marketing, promotions and event management company, Gail founded The Style Box in the Toronto Fashion Incubator, Canada’s first-ever Canadian designer fashion rental showroom. She’s been on every major news outlet from television spots on CTV to write-ups in the Globe and Mail and National Post.
This year Gail was nominated as “Communicator of the Year” at the Scottish Fashion Awards, in association with Vogue.com, giving her international notoriety.
When she isn’t in her office at Magnet Creative or attending Toronto’s hottest events, you’ll find Gail working away her free hours at Youth Employment Services working with youth as the Passion for Fashion program coordinator.
Toronto Fashion Week can take quite a mental and physical toll on those attending five, fashion-filled days full of industry schmoozing, networking and collection gawking over dozens of designers and labels.
Before you swear off wearing 4-inch stilettos forever, we asked our LGFW fashion insiders and experts to share their best fashion week survival tips.
“If you’re going to slip on a pair of flats, be sure to do this out of view of others,” says Gail McInnes, owner and director of the fashion public relations and event management company Magnet Creative Management.
Smile. It sounds simple but when you’re balancing several swag bags in one hand and your cell phone in the other, one can easily forget to show off their pearly whites. “If you’re new to the industry and want to meet people, nothing is simpler and more approachable than a smile,” says McInnes. “People will be naturally drawn to you.”
Respect seating arrangements.“Every single one of those front row seats are there for a purpose—from key celebrities who help build buzz for a brand and sponsors who have helped cover costs for the show, to media who are there to cover the show,” says McInnes. “Seat stealers are obvious—we know who you are.”
“Gail McInnes, creator of Magnet Creative Management and graduate of Humber’s Fashion Arts program, has been involved with the Toronto fashion scene for 14 years and has attended many Toronto fashion weeks.
“[LGFW] has grown every single year and what I’ve noticed is that the talent has grown as well,” McInnes told thedailyplanet.com Monday. “It has totally changed how people view Canadian fashion.”
McInnes represents MICALLA, the first jewelry designers to have a runway show at LGFW, and works with Krane, designed by Toronto’s Ken Chow who is a part of the Fashion Collective for LGFW.”
My first introduction to the name Lucian Matis was back in my model agent days when he was casting models for his first collection at Toronto Fashion Week.
As I’ve watched his career grow and his creative vision evolve, all I can now see is an artist intent on expressing himself through fashion. His latest collection for Spring/Summer 2012 – which showed last week before Toronto’s official fashion week calendar – was inspired by another artist with a very similar last name, Henri Mattise.
Gail McInnes explores France’s finest lingerie houses at a runway show in Toronto’s historic Distillery District, and gets some reaction from several fashion industry insiders.
If we had to nominate a spokesperson in this town to promote local fashion, it would be a no-brainer to suggest Gail McInnes. The exuberant gal about town is always a comforting go-to when party chit-chat starts to get lame-o. Although Gail was seen throughout the ten days, here she fills us in on her last night out and naturally it involves a glamorous look and a bottle of Patron.
“It takes a certain kind of person to go after their passion and branch out on their own to start a new business. It takes a hard-working, passionate and innovative person to not only do that, but also scoop up an award nomination from a renowned event like the Scottish Fashion Awards, hardly even a year after starting their business venture. Gail McInnes, Owner and Director of Magnet Creative Management, has managed to do all of this within less than two years and is just getting started.
Setting her sights on such a wonderful goal has brought her much success thus far – her PR & marketing firm is well-established and only getting better, her recognition from the Scottish Fashion Awards with a nomination for Communicator of the Year has recently put the spotlight on her success, and her personal experiences have helped her to be able to offer incredible insight and advice for young PR professionals looking to break out into their various industries.”
